David Echoe is a super famous adventurer that first appears in The Broken World. He enjoys eating donuts, saving the world (again) and playing bingo at the nursing home on Tuesdays.
David is described as having shaggy brown hair that curls up under his iconic ball cap. He has fair skin and bright green eyes. One thing noted by multiple characters is his insistence on wearing his hoodie and ball cap. Both the hoodie and the hat are a Sapphire Blue (#0067A5) with a makeshift lightning bolt sewn onto them. He is rarely, if ever, seen without these items. He is moderately built, standing at 173cm (5ft 7in) tall.
It should be noted that, when originally conceived, David was a stickman with a blue hat. When the author (H.M. Johnson) began to draw him in more detailed forms there was a phase where he went to a red and yellow color scheme, primarily because at the time, "I just thought that was the only real matching color to yellow, I was a kid, you know? So I didn't have a great grasp of colors, and as I got older I learned some more and I learned that the original vision in my mind could be accomplished, so I pursued that." (H.M. Johnson 2017)
David's biggest personality trait is his want for adventure. He is constantly looking for the next dangerous thing to get involved with. He is also portrayed as being a very laid back individual, having had a lot of life and death experiences that cause him to be calm (or immune) to intensely dangerous situations. Thus far, David is only known to get worked up, or emotional when he runs out of donuts. In most situations, David is seen cracking jokes and trying to make light of anything and everything, no matter how appropriate. He is also shown to have a very fairy tale view of the world. His interactions with other characters show that he often compares his adventures with stereotypes that are seen frequently in TV or books, giving him an "outside looking in," perspective. He is also practically inseperable from his best friend and pal, Dustbunny.
David is known for pulling through, even in the most dire of circumstances, due to his on the spot imagination and ingenuity. His uncanny abiliy to make things work even in the most tense of situations is noticed by many of the characters he encounters. As it stands, he has no magical abilities, but rather is shown to be devoid of magic, and cannot interact with magical accumulators.
So far, no backstory for David has been introduced, however we know that he has been around causing trouble for the Explorer's Guild and going on adventures prior to the events of the first book (The Broken World.)
